If you are a wearer of tights you will probably understand
that they are more of a wardrobe essential than a bold fashion statement.
Buying tights is a monthly necessity with runs, ladders and holes (usually big
enough for a toe to poke out uncomfortably). They are magnets for fluff and you
are almost guaranteed to accidentally pick up a pair that are either too big;
resulting in sagginess or too small; resulting in the whole awkward drop crotch
situation.
Essentially the point that I’m trying to get at are that
tights are an unfortunate necessity; no matter how much bother they are and how
much money we spend on a pair that will be ruined in less than a week we still
buy them. The reason is because they are essential, especially in this weather,
where going bare legged is a no-no – unless you want to freeze.
You can pick up some cool patterned tights but at the end of
the day you know that anything other than a plain black 40 denier is the same
as burning money as you know those bad boys will snag as soon as you put your
foot in them.
But we’ve spotted some tights that have changed our
perception on tights forever, these aren’t no run of the mill church attire
tights, these ones are… cool, I know; cool tights sounds like a bit of an
oxymoron but it’s true!
Online store URB has introduced a stellar range of ‘paint
drip’ tights that look as if you’ve had a run in at the Homebase tester pot
aisle. These cool directional tights are really something different, probably
not ideal for a smart event but if you’re looking for something a little
different, for a festival perhaps, then these will be right up your street.
Alternatively if you think these tights might be a little
too much for every-day wear then they would definitely make a shrewd investment
for Halloween or fancy dress. Made from melted latex over nude tights they
create the effect that wet paint is dripping down your lap (or crotch,
whichever way you want to look at it). The wet-look tights will set you back
around £30 plus £5 to ship to the UK and the best bit is that you don’t need to
worry about laddering them because they already come with holes in them.
