If the unfortunate effects of being overly generous, or
indeed self-indulgent, are taking their toll on your finances then you might be
experiencing some tighter-than-usual budgeting issues.
Stretching that last pay check all the way through to the
end of the month seems almost impossible and the even the smallest of luxuries
become huge expenditures. If only there was a way that you could treat yourself
to something special without putting even the smallest dent in your finances.
Well, there is! Last week Marc Jacobs’ opened the doors to a
pop-up shop for his fragrance Daisy, like no other, one where no money, paper
or otherwise, exchanged hands. Instead shoppers could ‘buy’ items from the
boutique with social currency earned through liking, tweeting, instagram-ing
and sharing on social media sites.
Guests, who included fashion bloggers Nicole Warn and Chiara
Ferragni, were encouraged to use the hashtag #MJDaisychain when posting images
from the store. Inside was a huge set with larger than life bottles of the
perfume and the walls were adorned with cool illustrations from the artist
Langley Fox Hemmingway.
