• Haute Couture Inspired Fashion for Less

French and Italian designers have recently taken over the runways at Haute Couture Fashion Week showcasing all things couture. The one week of the year where all the best high-end fashion is celebrated all over the world. Much like the regular fashion weeks, the runway pieces are luxurious, lust worthy but most of all pricey! So we have gathered the best looks from Couture week 2015 and showing affordable alternatives.

Wearable Art

One of the stand out trends seen on the Haute Couture catwalks in Paris this year comes in the form of wearable art. Models were seen at Viktor and Rolf dressed head to toe in canvas style clothing, gliding down the catwalk draped in art. Looks like the designers were on a mission to prove that art and fashion go hand in hand. If you’re looking to wear something a little more creative this season we suggest these colourful art print dresses from She In and Karen Millen.

70’s Platforms

The 70’s trend has taken the fashion world by storm this season with denim flares, suede leather and paisley prints and now platform shoes are bigger then ever. During Couture fashion week, designers such as Versace and Christian Dior were displaying 70’s inspired platforms and disco heels on the runway. Get your 70’s fix with these wooden platforms from Carvela or these nude platforms from River Island.

Floral Head Garlands

Versace wowed spectators at Couture Fashion week with pretty flower garlands to accompany their weightless chiffon, raw edged dresses on the runway. The garlands defied all the rules as they were dark, bold and edgy interlaced with metallic rope. Chanel your inner hippy goddess with this bespoke black head garland from eBay.

Food Inspired Accessories
Ulyana Sergeenko's ice-cream cone clutch

Quirky food inspired accessories have been a big hit in the fashion world over the past few seasons. With designers such as Anya Hindmarch and Moschino leading the way with their bold fast food inspired handbags and tech accessories. This time designer Ulyana Sergeenko showed off her ice-cream cone clutches on the runway during Couture week. Get your yummy accessory with this Skinny Dip London ipad case or these fries inspired earrings from NastyGal.

Bridal Watch
The highlight of Couture Fashion week was without a doubt the variety of bridal wear on offer from each designer. Elie Saab displayed beautiful golden wedding gowns whilst Galliano presented plastics and synthetics for his haute couture bride. However Chanel took centre stage when young starlet Kendall Jenner ended the presentation as a Chanel bride wearing a crisp white two-piece trouser suit with a long chiffon veal draped behind her.
