Evan Lentz describes himself as a modern
cowboy of wood design and jewellery who concocts and creates beautiful handmade
natural necklaces and bracelets out of reclaimed wood and upcycled materials.
Lentz’s foray into eco-friendly jewellery design came to him after a long walk
through a forest that lasted a number of days, inspired by the landscape and
nature he decided to create a line of jewellery that captured the essence and
feel of what he had experienced.
He certainly makes unique pieces 'A lot of jewellery
out there is the same old mix of beads or metal, so when someone walks in with
a wearable plant necklace, they have a conversation starter with almost
everyone they meet.'
One particular range of necklaces are crafted using foraged wood
that act as a makeshift container which is filled with grass, moss and in some
cases a small flower. Lentz even creates his own home made nontoxic stain and
the drying process means that it has very low maintenance; in fact it doesn’t
need to be watered at all! The natural focal points are dried
to avoid them getting damaged when worn and for less than $30 they’re well
worth the money!
